About The Internship
At SAFTECH ACADEMY, our internships are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world skills. We provide guided mentorship and hands-on project work that makes you industry-ready.
Our Design for Testability Internship is designed to give engineering students a strong foundation in VLSI Front & Backend design, where theory meets industry practice. Over 4 weekend sessions (3 hrs each), students will explore how complex circuits are transformed into manufacturable chip layouts.
What You Will Learn ?
- Introduction to DFT & its Role in VLSI – why testing is critical for chips
- Understanding Faults – stuck-at, delay, bridging and how they affect circuits
- Scan Design Techniques – scan flip-flops, scan chain creation & verification
- ATPG (Automatic Test Pattern Generation) – generating test vectors for high fault coverage
- Memory & Logic BIST – self-test mechanisms for reliable chips
- Boundary Scan & JTAG – industry standards for board and system testing
- DFT Implementation & Signoff – ensuring test coverage and manufacturability
- Career Pathways in DFT – skills, roles, and demand in the semiconductor industry
